Heads & Tales

Privacy policy

Effective date: 6 November 2026

The short version

Heads & Tales collects no data. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting, and no server of ours. Everything the app saves stays on your phone, and it goes when you delete the app.

Who we are

Heads & Tales: Flip a Coin is a free app for iPhone and Android, made by an independent developer (“we” on this page). This policy covers the app and this website. If you have a question, write to .

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash-reporting tools, and there is no server or backend for it to send anything to. We can’t see who you are or how you use the app, so we have nothing to use, sell or share.

What stays on your phone

The app saves these on your phone, and only there:

To make a coin from a photo, you take one with the camera or pick one in your phone’s photo picker. The app crops it to a circle and saves a small new copy, which leaves out the photo’s location and camera details.

The home-screen widgets keep their last result in storage that the app and its widgets share on your phone.

If your phone backs itself up (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android), the backup can include the app’s data, as it does for any app. Those backups are between you and Apple or Google; we can’t see them.

Camera and photos

Camera: the app asks for it only when you choose to take a photo for a custom coin, and uses it only for that. You can say no and still use everything else.

Photos: the app never looks through your photo library. Your phone’s photo picker hands over only the photo you choose, so the app needs no permission for it.

Sharing

Share cards and CSV exports go only where you send them, through your phone’s share sheet. Once sent, they’re in the hands of the app or person you chose.

Siri, Shortcuts and widgets

Siri and Shortcuts (on iPhone) and the widgets run on your phone and send nothing to us. So do the Quick Settings tile and the app shortcuts on Android. What you say to Siri is handled by Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy.

Send feedback

Send feedback, in Settings, opens your own email app with a new, empty message to us. At the bottom it adds the app version and your phone’s system version (such as “Android 16”), and you see them before you send. We use your email only to reply to you. You can ask us at any time to delete our emails with you.

The app stores

You download the app from the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google handle downloads under their own privacy policies. They may give developers anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as how many times the app was installed), and crash reports only if you have agreed to share them with developers. None of this tells us who you are. See Apple’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

The internet

The app itself doesn’t send your data anywhere. If the app downloads extra scenes, it only requests the files. Like any download, the server that holds the files sees your phone’s internet address; the app sends nothing else about you.

This website

This site has no cookies, ads, analytics or tracking, and it loads nothing from other sites: even its fonts are served from the site itself. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so, as with any website, Cloudflare sees your browser’s IP address when it fetches the pages, under Cloudflare’s privacy statement. On the home page, a small script checks in your browser whether you’re on an iPhone or Android, to open the right store. Nothing is saved.

How long data is kept, and how to delete it

Everything stays on your phone until you delete it:

We don’t have a copy of anything, so there is nothing for us to delete or hand over.

Children

Heads & Tales collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
